Jeremy Umlauf

Jeremy Umlauf is an eclectic composer from the Orlando, Florida area. He has studied under Dr. Manuel de Murga and Dr. Sydney Hodkinson at Stetson University, Dr. Daniel Crozier at Rollins College, and will continue to study under Dr. Alex Burtzos at the University of Central Florida. His music often combines ultra-chromatic techniques such as the twelve-tone technique with the language of traditional tonal music. A few of his musical heroes include Leos Janacek, Gustav Mahler, Jeff Lynne of ELO, and Thomas Kalnoky of Streetlight Manifesto. When not composing, Jeremy can be found fishing Florida’s rich inshore saltwater fisheries, where he catches snook, tarpon, trout, redfish, bluefish, and jack crevalle. His love of fishing helps fuel his inspiration and passion for composition.
