Larry Adams

Larry Adams was born in Orlando, Florida. He earned his Bachelor Degree in Music Performance from the University of West Florida (2013). He also studied composition courses and received private instruction at the Eastman School of Music during this time. He earned his Master Degree in Music Composition from the Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music (2016). He is also a member of the Central Florida Composers Forum (2013-2014) (2016-2018). He has participated in the Synthetis program, under the direction of Dr. Zygmunt Krauze (2015), Pensacola State College Composerfest (2012), under the direction of Dr. Michael Coleman, and the Collide Festival, hosted by the University of Central Florida(2014). He has also received the Hitchcock Institute for Studies in American Music Award forexcellence in the study of ethnomusicology from the Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music. He has premiered compositions with the University of West Florida Runge String Orchestra (under the direction of Dr. Leonid Yanovskiy), the University of West Florida String Quartet (under the coaching of Dr. Leonid Yanovskiy), Sovereign Brass, Brooklyn College Orchestra (under the direction of Maestro George Rothman), Pavel Gintov, and Leszek Lorent. His teachers in composition include Dr. Troy Gifford, Dr. Michael Coleman, Dr. Joseph Spaniola, Dr. Ricardo Zohn-Muldoon, Dr. Daniel Crozier, Dr. Dalit Warshaw, and Dr. Tania Leon
