Larry Williams

Larry Williams is a true musical polymath whose career spans performance, composition, production, authorship, and even instrument building. A skilled multi-instrumentalist, he performs on nylon and steel six- and twelve-string guitars, electric bass, EVI, and percussion, bringing a deep sense of musicality and versatility to every project he touches.

As a composer, Larry has created an extensive catalog of works across both classical and jazz traditions. His classical compositions range from solo pieces for guitar and piano to works for chamber and large ensembles, including trumpet duets, clarinet trios, guitar-, flute-, and string quartets, brass quintets, chamber groups, and symphonic band. His jazz output is equally rich, featuring numerous ensembles of varying sizes that highlight his distinctive voice as both composer and arranger.

In addition to his creative output, Larry has produced 23 solo albums and authored four books of compositions, etudes, and solo works: The Songbook, The Piano, The Guitar, and 10 Jazz Duets for the Advancing Trumpeter.

Ever curious and inventive, Larry also turned his passion for sound into craftsmanship. In the early 2000s, he founded LA Chimes, a line of specialized percussion instruments that reflect his lifelong dedication to musical exploration and artistry.
